General
Is this a stay-to-play tournament?
WIST is not a stay-to play tournament. However, we appreciate it if you support our sponsor hotels listed on the tournament site hotel tab. If you don't see a hotel you are interested in please contact the tournament director and we will let you know if we can arrange a discounted room rate for your club/team.
What governing body must our players be carded under?
We permit both USYSA teams and US Club teams. IMPORTANT: All players participating must be carded under the same govening body, including guest players. USYSA teams may NOT use US Club guest players, and US Club teams may not use USYSA guest players. No mixing.
Can our team register at the field on Saturday morning?
No. Registration may be done in person by E-registration only.
Are guest players permitted?
Yes, the WIST allows four (4) guest players for any team. Be sure the combination of your rostered players and guest players do not exceed the maximum allowed under the WIST rules.
Are we going to have a game scheduled on Friday night?
It is unlikely. If needed Friday night games are intended to be for local teams only. Local teams that will be playing on Friday night will be notified as soon as the schedules are completed so they can plan accordingly.
Can a player play on more than one team during the tournament?
No player shall be allowed to register with more than one team within the same age group or switch to another team during the tournament. For example, a player can be rostered on a U9 team and a U10 team, but a player cannot play on two U9 teams even if they are in separate divisions. Under no circumstance will WIST attempt to avoid conflicts for players rostered on two teams.
Can a team play up an age group?
A team may play up an age group. If a team chooses to play up and the WIST bracketing team allows, they will play in the upper bracket of the older age group. example. An U11 team wants to play up an age group. They will be placed in the Upper division of U12
Can our team use our own Medical Release Forms or do we have to use yours?
You can use your forms as long as they correctly identify the player, are from the current season. Medical Release Forms do not need to be notarized for the WIST.
How are Coaching conflicts handled?
The Scheduling Committee will make its best efforts to accommodate coaches with this problem. Please make sure to indicate on your application if your coach is coaching multiple teams. When a coach has more then two teams we will not be able to make adjustments on all games please indicate the two most important teams to avoid conflicts for and we will make those a priority. It is impossible to avoid all conflicts but we do our best and make every effort to be fair as possible, however teams MUST make alternate coaching provisions in the event this request can not be honored.
We are an out of town team. Do we need a Permit to Travel?
USYSA teams located outside of Ohio-North will need a Permit to Travel from your state association. Please contact your league representative or state association for further information.

US Club teams do not need a permit to travel.
